Grandpa and Me

There are certain paintings that end up having so much meaning and reach my heart. This is one of those paintings. I brought this painting home from the framers and put it on my wall to admire. A day or two after I hung it, a little boy I know, who is about the same age as this wee fellow, left his Daddy behind and went on a train ride from Ukraine to Hungary with his mommy so he would be safe.

Today my heart is heavy as I think of and pray for him and all the children who have lost their innocence to war. May God bless them, and may they always feel a love that outweighs the hatred during these trying times.
